Four cars stolen, one vandalized
Two cars were reported stolen this weekend from University Park, and another two from the Charles Bank Apartments. One car stolen belonged to a Brandeis undergraduate. "I believe her car has since been recovered," Director of Brandeis Public Safety Ed Callahan said. He added that he believes it was found "not too far from that area, probably in the South Street, Turner street area."
Brandeis does not own the apartments and does not operate or maintain the University Park property, which is on a 99-year lease from Brandeis, Callahan said.
Another car parked in the University Park lot was reported vandalized.
The vehicles were stolen and car vandalized between Saturday and yesterday morning, and a further investigation by the Waltham Police Department will be needed to more precisely determine when the car was stolen, Callahan said.
The Waltham Police Department, however, would not comment on the thefts.
Callahan said investors are unsure whether the other three stolen vehicles, or the vandalized car, are the property of anyone at Brandeis. He added that it is unclear when the vehicles were stolen.
