A representative from the Undergraduate Curriculum committee reported on changes to the music major. She also noted that the women's studies department wants to change its name to "women and gender studies." In addition, a committee is forming to evaluate the University Seminar system.VoiceMale, the Voices of Praise Gospel Choir, False Advertising, Proscenium, the Brandeis Buddhist Community and the Comic Book Club were each re-recognized.

Students for Enviro-nmental Education was de-chartered because it merged with Students for Environmental Action.

The Pottery Club was re-chartered.

The senate passed the budget for the 2005-2006 school year with a vote of 10 to one with one abstention.

The hookah club requested to be chartered. The senate discussed possible health issues relating to smoking tobacco. The club was recognized and will likely reappear to be chartered.

The Students for Environmental Action were granted $400, including $150 from the presidential discretionary fund, for their Earth Day picnic.

The Beyond Disaster Relief Symposium was granted $750 to help cover the cost of speakers.

The Brandeis Democrats were granted $86.85 to pay for cardboard cutouts for its "pride day".

The Union passed a resolution endorsing the "Petition on the Crisis in Sudan" it passed by unanimous consent.

The senate granted a money request for $70 from the women's ultimate frisbee team.

The senate elected Alison Schwartzbaum '08 as its executive senator.
