Student Union President Andy Hogan '11 reported that he hopes to have a listserv set up within the week to which all students may subscribe; Hogan plans to use this listserv to send out weekly questionnaires about Union happenings in order to get student input. The Senate confirmed four new associate directors of the Office of Student Rights and Advocacy appointed by OSRA Director Lev Hirschhorn '11. The Senate also confirmed the members of 26 University committees.

The Senate unanimously passed a bylaw amendment that removes chartered and recognized clubs' 10-week provisional accreditation period. According to the new bylaw, a newly accredited club must still report to the Senate after 10 weeks, but the clubs gain full status immediately upon accreditation.

Senator for Class of 2011 Jenna Rubin withdrew a proposed bylaw amendment that would have left the Thanksgiving and Passover shuttle schedules and destinations open to student interest and would have changed the requirement for an "all-you-can-eat buffet" to "an event with free items for students."

The Senate unanimously passed a Senate resolution to officially thank all of the University faculty and staff who have sacrificed for the University and its students by voluntarily accepting pay cuts in the current economic crisis.

The Senate passed a Senate Money Resolution of up to $450 for a "Meet Your Student Union Thirsty Thursday Event" to be held Oct. 1. The Senate unanimously passed an SMR for the 'DeisBikes program to purchase more bicycles and maintenance equipment.

The Senate chartered the Brandeis Anime and Cosplay Association, a club seeking to foster interest in Japanese animation and costume play. The Senate unanimously chartered the Student Philanthropic Front, a club dedicated to humanitarian philanthropy.
