Medical Emergency

Dec. 12—Health Center staff requested a 911 ambulance for a student suffering an allergic reaction in Golding Health Center. 

The party was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital for further care.

Dec. 15—Police received a call of a worker having a diabetic reaction in Ridgewood Quad. 

University Police and BEMCO staff responded and treated the party on the scene with a signed refusal for further care.

Dec. 17—University Police and BEMCO responded to a call in Renfield Hall of a student who cut the back of his head, producing a three-inch laceration. 

The party was treated on scene by BEMCO staff and transported to Newton-Wellsley Hospital for further care.

Dec. 19—State police notified University Police dispatch that a female party cut her finger and was bleeding. 

Waltham Police was also advised by the state police and sent Cataldo ambulance and Waltham Fire Department. The party was treated on scene by Cataldo ambulance with a signed refusal for further care.

Dec. 19—Police received a call of an intoxicated female student in Ridgewood Quad. 

University Police responded and requested Cataldo ambulance for a transport to Newton-Wellesley Hospital for further care. The party was transported without incident.

Jan. 5—University Police received a report of a female who fell off a treadmill in the Gosman Sports and Convocation Center. The party was checked by Cataldo and refused medical transportation.

Traffic 

Jan. 9—Police compiled a report after a minor motor vehicle accident at the main gate.

Jan. 9—A party reported that her car was leaking fluids after sliding into a guardrail on Loop Road near East Quad. Police sent an officer to check on the party.

Drugs

Dec. 19—A Community Development Coordinator requested that University Police take possession of a marijuana smoking pipe discovered by CDC while performing apartment safety inspection in Ziv. 

A University Police officer on scene requested an electrician for a covered smoke head. University Police compiled a report on the incident.

Miscellaneous

Dec. 7—Police received a report via e-mail that a staff member had found another staff member’s office area and adjacent conference room  open with post-it notes left on the door about the area being reserved. 

Police received no reported thefts at the time and planned an investigation to follow. 

Dec. 9—University Police received a report of three intoxicated students causing a problem in the Goldfarb Library. 

One student left through the Usdan exit. The other two students were last seen in Farber library. 

University Police Officers searched the building and adjoining areas but were unable to locate suspects. 

Police compiled a report on the incident with an investigation to follow.

Dec. 17—University Police on patrol reported smoke coming from an apartment in Rosenthal Quad.

 University Police entered the room due to exigent circumstances and discovered a resident was smoking a Class-D substance.

 University Police compiled a report on the incident.

Dec. 28—Maintenance department reported that a window screen appeared to have been broken. 

University Police performed a walkthrough of the building, finding all in order with no signs of burglary.
