Medical Emergency

Apr. 4—University Police received a request for an ambulance transport from the Psychological Counseling Center for a party with depression. The party was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital for care.

Apr. 6—University Police received a request for an ambulance transport from the PCC. Police assisted Cataldo Ambulance with the transport and brought the party to Newton-Wellesley Hospital for further care.

Apr. 6—Police received a report of a party in the Shiffman Humanities Center who had fallen off their crutches. BEMCo staff treated the party on the scene with a signed refusal for further care.

Apr. 7—A report stated a party in the Heller School with neck pains and a history of seizures may go into a seizure. The party was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital for care.

Apr. 8—A caller from Sherman reported their friend had a possible sprained ankle from playing basketball. BEMCo staff treated the party on the scene with a signed refusal for further care.

Apr. 8—Police received a report of two Tufts University students who injured themselves playing soccer on Gordon Field. One Tufts student was hit in the face by a soccer ball and lost a tooth, while the other had an injury to their hand. The two were transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital for further care.

Apr. 9—Police received a report from North Quad of a party with stomach pains. Cataldo Ambulance transported the party to Newton-Wellesley Hospital for further care.

Apr. 10—Police received a report of a party in the Village Quad who was feeling ill. The party was treated on scene with a signed refusal for further care.

Larceny

Apr. 7—Police received a report from a party in Sherman Dining Hall who reported their bag was taken while left unattended. Police compiled a report, and a check of the closed-circuit television footage of the common area was unhelpful, since the theft was out of camera view.

Drugs

Apr. 4—The Area Coordinator in East Quad found drug contraband. Police confiscated the contraband and compiled a report on the incident.

The Area Coordinator handled a Community Standards Report on the incident.

Apr. 7—A caller from Ziv Quad reported a strong smell of marijuana coming from the floor below their apartment. The Area Coordinator was notified to check the situation.

Vandalism

Apr. 6—A party from the Shapiro Campus Center reported vandalism in the women’s bathroom. Police on the scene reported there were just indiscriminate pen marks inside one of the bathroom stalls.

Custodial staff was notified for a clean up with no permanent damage. Police took no further action on the matter.

Disturbance

Apr. 9—Police received a report about a party in East Quad who opened their residential door and urinated in their room and the hallway common area. Police responded and identified the party as an intoxicated student. Police filed a report on the incident and opened a Community Standards Report.

Apr. 10—Loud music was reported in the area of the Charles River Apartments. Police checked the area and found all quiet upon arrival.

Other

Apr. 9—A party on Loop Road was discovered by Police on patrol to be standing on top of a University vehicle. The party was intoxicated from alcohol consumption and was placed under protective custody due to their incapacitated state. Police identified the party as a student and transported them to the Waltham Police Department for booking and detention. Police compiled a report on the incident and a Community Standards Report. The Area Coordinator on Call was notified of the incident.
