Board of Trustees extends President Liebowitz’s contract for 5 more years
The Brandeis Board of Trustees agreed to extend President Ron Liebowitz’s contract for five years, according to an April 9 email from Liebowitz to the Brandeis community.
The announcement follows a dispute in which a private letter Liebowitz wrote to the Board was leaked to The Boston Globe. In the letter, Liebowitz accused the Board of trying to push him out of his position.
According to the recent announcement, the Board and Liebowitz are looking to strengthen their relationship and improve transparency.
“The board has always recognized that Ron has fostered a strong academic culture and created a detailed plan for an agile and dynamic university of the future,” said Chair of the Board of Trustees Meyer Koplow in the email.
