J Street U and BIPAC seek answers to a two-state problem

As part of Israel Week, J Street U Brandeis and the Brandeis Israel Public Affairs Committee led a discussion last Wednesday about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and logistical aspects of a two-state solution in an event titled "Is Peace Possible?" Two seniors to receive Davis Projects for Peace

Ardak Meterkulova '13 and Mangaliso Mohammed '13 have each been selected to receive this year's Davis Projects for Peace, a $10,000 prize to implement programs this summer that they have designed to promote peace. Each has created projects that address HIV/AIDS prevention in their home countries.

Judy and Eliza Dushku share their story

Last Wednesday Eliza and Judy Dushku delivered the keynote address of the second annual 'Deis Impact festival, in which they discussed their philanthropic efforts in Uganda and their therapeutic organization, THRIVEGulu. The event, which took place in Levin Ballroom, was one of several programs planned by students, clubs and academic departments during the weeklong festival of social justice.


Prince speaks on war and crimes

Last Wednesday, Prince Zeid Ra'ad Zeid al-Hussein, permanent representative of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United Nations, addressed a full audience of students, faculty and guests in the International Lounge in a presentation titled "Beyond Nuremberg: The Future of International Criminal Justice" in which he discussed the role of humanity and remorse in war crimes. The presentation was the second-annual Distinguished Lecture in International Justice and Human Rights sponsored by the International Center for Ethics, Justice and Public Life.
