Professors enlighten students on the Middle East

Number of students with Apple computers rises to 40 percent

This year 60 percent of the first-year class brought Apple computers to school, bringing the school total to 40 percent Apple and 60 percent computers with Windows based operating system, a Library and Technology Services staff member said.The LTS Web site says that for the 2003 to 2004 academic year, about 79 percent of students had Windows operating systems and 20 percent had Apple computers with one percent of students using the Linux operating system.

University improves safety procedures

As the fall semester begins, Brandeis will be met with an enhanced emergency response system, including armed campus police, sirens and various ways of contacting students in case of emergency.According to Director of Public Safety Ed Callahan, "most of the [Public Safety] officers have gone through training" to carry firearms and five more officers have yet to undergo training.


Donations top $90 million

This past fiscal year Brandeis received $90.4 million in cash gifts, including more than $25 million from alumni and $72.8 million in new pledges, making this the best fundraising year in the University's 60-year history.
