Alumni Athlete: Lambert '05 livin' large in minor league baseball

Fresh out of college and recently engaged, Bryan Lambert '05 is living the dream. The six-foot-nine Brandeis athletic icon-who had been an all-UAA selection in both basketball and baseball-was signed by Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals organization in June, barely a month after graduating as a fifth-year senior.


Bomb threat suspect returns

A student was arrested for allegedly making a bomb threat against the International Business School in May is back at Brandeis after the case against him was dismissed because the prosecution could not locate several key witnesses. A student was suspended after his arrest on May 5.


Gordon Field to be revamped

Tractors began to tear up the previously rut-filled surface of the University's primary athletic field last Monday, clearing the way for athletes to play on a new, artificial surface when they return in the fall.The renovation, which will be accompanied by installation of the infrastructure for a new track surface and the electronic conduits that will lay the framework for a later installation of field lights, is the first phase of what Athletic Director Sheryl Sousa hopes will be many improvements to athletic facilities.


Athletics Staff: Men's assistant to head Endicott basketball program

College coaching is a competitive business, and Chris Millette just caught a big break. The Brandeis assistant men's basketball coach beat out approximately 100 other candidates and was hired to be the Endicott College men's basketball head coach, taking the reigns of a program that has made the NCAA tournament two years in a row."I didn't think I had a shot at an interview when I applied," Millette said.


Club Sports: Tron qualifies for regionals

The men's ultimate frisbee club, Tron, had what captain Lionel Winninger '05 called "one of the best weekends in Brandeis ultimate history" as the team went 5-2 through two days at the Metro Boston Sectionals this weekend.
