Commentary: Toughness and NCAA's still await

There were less than six minutes left in the game, and things were only getting bleaker. The women's basketball team's deficit had swelled to 18, and the conference title seemed to slip further away with every brick tossed up from the perimeter.


Athlete injured in car crash

He was just making a lane change, but he inadvertently changed his life instead. Men's basketball and baseball player Rocco Toppi '08 suffered a near fatal car accident on Wednesday on Route 128.The six-foot-five native of Portland, Maine was on his way from home back to school driving teammate Bryan Lambert's '05 car when he was cut off by a car in the middle of a lane change.


Hall of Fame Bound

Former Brandeis athletic director, coach and early NFL quarterback Benny Friedman was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.


Deis and Football Meet Again

Hardly a school ever associated with sports, and certainly not football, Brandeis is proudly boasting several strong connections to the world of football as the Super Bowl nears.Despite not fielding a football team in 46 years, the University has alumni connections to both teams playing in Super Bowl XXXIX this Sunday night.


WBball: Picking up the pieces

Although they quickly bounced back, the damage was done. The women's basketball team defeated then UAA leading University of Chicago 84-76 on Sunday, only two days after being demolished in their worst game of the season, a 70-40 thrashing at the hands of Washington University on Friday.
