Admins project 2010 budget

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Peter French presented the tentative University budget for fiscal year 2010 at last Thursday's faculty meeting, which included components such as a tuition growth rate, undergraduate enrollment figures and several endowment issues.At the faculty meeting, Reinharz said, "I think it's fair to say there's no getting around layoffs.


Dining changes implemented

Dining Services will immediately implement several new changes, including adding more items to the C-meal program and bringing back some favorite dishes to the Stein, according to an e-mail that Dining Services sent yesterday to the members of the Student Dining Services Advisory Committee.These changes were discussed in a meeting last Thursday between the committee and Aramark.According to the e-mail, which was shared with the Justice, the C-meal program in the Provisions on Demand Market will now include "vegan noodle options that are prepared and packaged on-site as part of the existing grab and go program," as well as Dannon yogurt and soy milk.


Budget minimally affects students

Quiznos scheduled to open on Thursday

Quiznos, a national food chain known for its sandwiches, is scheduled to open for lunch and dinner on Thursday in Upper Usdan Student Center, according to Director of Dining Services Mike Newmark.Newmark said that final inspections, final operational setup and staff training still need to be completed before Thursday.


Brandeis received $47.5M construction bond

Brandeis was recently issued a bond of $47.5 million from MassDevelopment, Massachusetts' development finance agency, and will use most of the proceeds to continue to fund phase one of the new science complex project, which focuses primarily on the construction of the Shapiro Science Center, according to Vice President for Financial Affairs and Treasurer Maureen Murphy.Murphy said, "The main proceeds of this bond [Series N] are for the [Shapiro Science Center], but a small part of it will go toward [the Ridgewood Residence Halls]."She explained, "The bond proceeds are not tagged to specific expenditure.
