Admissions fee policy successful for clubs

The Union Treasury and club leaders have expressed satisfaction with the newly instated events admission price policy this semester, allowing clubs to charge a nominal admission fee, which followed last semester's policy requiring all Finance Board-funded events to offer free admission to Brandeis students.Last January, immediate past Union Treasurer Choon Woo Ha '08 informed club leaders that the trial policy was formed because of concerns over the amount of money undergraduates pay for events on campus.


20 students caught with fake tickets at concert

Twenty students were denied admission to the sold-out Girl Talk concert last night because they presented counterfeit tickets at the door, according to Director of Student Events Ilyssa Adler '09.Student Events sold 757 tickets and admitted approximately 770 people, including the press and Girl Talk's guest list, to the event in Levin Ballroom, which has a capacity of 750 people.


Bike program proposed

Students may be able to rent one of 10 used bicycles for free at the library circulation desk this March under a pilot plan called the DeisBikes rental program, which was proposed by the Union Senate's special bicycle task force, should the program's proposal pass.The task force was created last semester, and it is composed of senators and environmental studies students.On Nov.


Student interns reflect on experiences

Waltham nonprofit organizations joined Brandeis students and faculty Tuesday in a workshop co-sponsored by the Community-Engaged Learning program and the Health: Science, Society and Policy program to explore increased collaboration between community groups and Brandeis students through class projects and internships in the area of community health.

The Senate passed a resolution calling to increase the time that evidence submitted to the University Board of Student Development and Conduct on the day of a hearing can be reviewed by the other side to 24 hours, instead of the UBSC determining the amount of time in every separate case.Former Union Vice President Alex Braver '09 announced that the Student Information Technology Committee would be holding a meeting and asked for input.


Dorm may not be renovated for class of 2013 midyears

The Department of Residence Life is looking into alternatives for housing the midyear Class of 2013 amid concerns that the University budget won't be able to cover the usual renovations of a dorm for the midyear class, Co-director of Residence Life Jeremy Leiferman said.
