This week, JustArts had the chance to speak with Paula Plum, director of Brandeis Theater Company's production of 'The Glass Menagerie.' She tells us about her experience directing a Brandeis production and gives some expert advice to young, aspiring actors. JustArts: What brought you to Brandeis to direct The Glass Menagerie?Paula Plum: Susan Dibble is the head of the Theater Department right now, and she and I have had a long artistic relationship.
Students from various ethnic and political backgrounds came together in the common room of Usen Castle on Thursday evening for Middle Eastern food and thoughtful dialogue at "Shakshouka and Stories." The event was dedicated to the sharing of students' cultural experiences and narratives about Israel.

JustArts: How has your first semester at Brandeis been so far?Cameron Anderson: My semester has been wonderful so far-I have been so impressed with Brandeis students.
Admittedly, I'm not usually a fan of novels. I prefer to read my non-fiction book on a topic of personal interest; as a result, fictitious plot lines and constructed characters are foreign to me.

Students gathered in the Shapiro Campus Center atrium on Monday evening for a forum to discuss the possibility of Bob Dylan coming to perform at SpringFest. The forum was led by a panel of three WBRS board members and three other student leaders: Jesse Manning '13, the general manager of WBRS; Michael Zonenashvili '13, the music director of WBRS; Alex Pilger '13, the business director of WBRS; Rachel Nelson '13, chair of Student Events; SuWei Chi '13, director of concerts for Student Events; and Todd Kirkland '13, the Student Union president. The panelists presented a Powerpoint presentation to the students detailing their plans for "Folkfest," a one-day concert dedicated to bringing folk musicians to perform at Brandeis.

JustArts spoke with Dor Guez about his experiences interviewing relatives and designing the space for his exhibit in the Rose Art Museum. JustArts: What was the inspiration for you to focus on Israeli identity in your work? Dor Guez: On the surface, my work focuses on the Christian Palestinian identity, as I'm also a member of this community, but the outcome of experiencing the work is personal for the viewer, who can be from any nationality.
